A website can be “online” and still look broken: missing sections, shifted layouts, buttons that don’t behave correctly, or a banner covering your call-to-action. The Daily Visual Check add-on is designed to catch those issues fast.
How it works (every day):
- We take a fresh screenshot of your homepage.
- AI compares it to your canonical reference (“the correct version”) and generates a similarity score.
- If the score drops below a safe threshold, one of our team members is alerted to review it manually.
- If something is wrong, we intervene to fix it (or apply the best workaround if a third-party service is involved).
Why a page can break from one day to the next:
Most visual breakages aren’t hacking — they’re the result of changes happening in the background.
- Security updates can cause conflicts: we regularly apply updates (often nightly) to reduce security risk, but occasionally an update can introduce a conflict between plugins, your theme, or scripts.
- Theme/plugin interactions: two tools that worked fine yesterday may clash after one updates, causing layout shifts or missing elements.
- Third-party scripts change: cookie banners, analytics tags, chat widgets, embedded maps, CRMs, and tracking scripts can update and suddenly impact page layout or behavior.
- Cache/CDN mismatches: the site may serve a mix of old and new CSS/JS, leading to a “broken-looking” page for some visitors.
- Hosting/resource spikes: fonts, images, or scripts may fail to load temporarily, making the page look incomplete.

If the cause is a third-party service outage (CDN, embedded tool, provider issue), we’ll troubleshoot, keep you informed, and apply a workaround when possible.

By default, we check the homepage. If you want additional business-critical pages (landing page, booking, checkout), we can extend the scope as an extra option.

It’s the reference image of your homepage that represents the correct version. Each day’s screenshot is compared to it. If your homepage is redesigned, we update the reference.

No. You won’t receive daily notifications. You can view the latest screenshot anytime in your private Samurai dashboard, and if the AI detects a significant change, our team is alerted internally to verify and intervene if needed.
